Club Rooty

Club Rooty is located on 220 acres near Norfolk, Nebraska. The preserve was purchased in 2000 after being in the conservation reserve program (CRP) for approximately 15 years. Natural cover abounds consisting mainly of switch and native brome grass. There is a large wooded draw with a natural spring and pond. Plum thickets abound and there is a very large population of native pheasants, quail, turkey,and numerous whitetail deer. An aggressive management plan was implimented in the spring of 2001 in conjunction with the NRCS office in Stanton Nebraska which includes renovation of existing grass stands, shelterbelt construction, and numerous food plots.
